Dinner, Concert and Dance Party featuring Planina - Songs of Eastern Europe and many musical guests, celebrating the group's 25th anniversary.
The evening begins with a light Mediterranean dinner catered by Donald Vukovic (The Baklava Guy). During dinner, current and returning Planina members and guest instrumentalists will serenade the audience with music for listening (as opposed to music for dancing) from 6:30 -7:15. As of this writing, 20 former members and instrumentalists are planning to participate.
After the concert, tables and chairs will be cleared away and a folk dance party will commence. Planina and the guest instrumentalists will provide folk dance music from Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Roma (Gypsy) traditions. The dances are mostly line dances (plus a few waltzes and individual dances). Many of the dances are easy enough to learn on the spot and there will be strong dance leaders present. Everyone is invited to dance, but no one is required to do so; the Avalon is spacious and there’s plenty of room to sit and watch.

AT THE DOOR tickets are $30 for dinner, concert and dance party and $18 for dance party only (no dinner), with a $4 discount at either price level for students and seniors. Child's ticket $6.
